Interesting Boats   Compromise 25 "Sea Horse"

"Sea Horse"  A Compromise 25 was built for David Young and kept in Texas, where it attended quite a number of steamboat meets.  The boat was later sold to Mike Zevely who took the boat to Oregon where he steams her frequently.  The Sea Horse was the first of the Compromise 25 hulls that we completed as a steam launch.  She is a very successful boat.

The boiler is a VFT-30 with a Scripps 3" & 5.5" X 4" engine, a large compound that is perhaps a bit too large for the boat.  A more recent building has used the VFT-30 as well, but with a Warrego 3" X 4" single, which moves her along at well over hull speed.  This is probably the better engine selection.
